YO26 is a fully-owned data centre in York. It has been designed and built completely to technical specifications and business requirements. The company controls every single aspect of the service — from land to the power, network and servers. The site was nominated as a finalist in the Datacenter Dynamics EMEA 2013 “Innovation in Medium Datacenter” category for its low-power design built around fresh air cooling. It has 1MVA primary power supply from a dedicated substation on the 11 KV distribution ring. The backup generator has 24-hour runtime as well as six-hour priority fuel supply contract.
